Denise Thompson-Coutu is a Hudson NH native. She received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Tufts University and a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston where she studied drawing and painting for five years, along with metalsmithing, clay, photography, and printmaking. After being certified in Graphic and Web Design she worked in the graphics field for 18 years, then started her business, Express It Art, in 2010 where she teaches youth and adults how to draw, paint, sew, work with clay, and create epoxy art at her studio. She also conducts paint parties in and outside of her studio.
She traveled around the U.S. and returned to Hudson to settle with her family after studying primarily in Boston, MA. Denise has worked in the arts all her life, taking on roles such as a sign painter, muralist, antique frame restorer, theatre set painter, jewelry maker/metalsmith, cake decorator, seamstress, graphic designer, and now a private art teacher. Occasionally, she works for Spectacle Live as well. Denise’s work includes a new mural at Benson’s Park in Hudson, NH, located in the gorilla cage.
I traveled around the US and came back to Hudson to settle with my family after studying primarily in Boston, MA. I’ve worked in the arts all my life from being a sign painter, muralist, antique frame restorer, theatre set painter, jewelry maker/metalsmith, cake decorator, seamstress, then graphic designer and now a private art teacher of fine art within my own business. Occasionally, I work here for Spectacle Live as well. I love being surrounded by so many exciting shows. Check out my new mural at Benson’s Park in Hudson, NH in the gorilla cage.
